The Children of Darkness

An ambitious project combining three genres — a rhythm game, a visual novel, and a romance / management hybrid. You manage a rising rock band, climbing from the very bottom on the strength of their talent and your management.

Story

There's a catch: the band members — and their fans — are fantasy creatures. Managing them is anything but easy. Over time the bonds between band and manager grow stronger, and relationships heat up…

The Band

  • Nuro — lead guitarist and vocalist. A dark elf with an egocentric streak.
  • Darlin — bassist. A tall vampire girl with intense emotional expression.
  • Garrota — drummer. A charming human with increasingly awkward jokes.

Gameplay

You juggle relationships, logistics and live performance:

  • Maintain bonds with each band member and keep the fanbase happy.
  • Solve problems that always strike at the worst possible moment.
  • Handle advertising with creativity rather than budget.
  • During concerts you take direct control of a band member and perform as well as you can — strengthening that bond, or souring relations with everyone. Choices carry consequences.

Visuals & Sound

A bold yet gothic style: muted colours between concerts, bright flashes and motion during performances. The music is impactful and diverse, revealing the past and inner world of each member.

Every song should tell a story and push the player toward emotion — not always a positive one.
