Top-Down Shooter · Released on Google Play
My Name is Smiley
My first game released for mobile phones — a top-down shooter that I designed, wrote and built entirely by myself. A compact, brutal experience about revenge, and what's left of a person once that revenge is finally fulfilled.
Story & Theme
The plot explores the role of revenge in the life of a man who has lost everything — and the role of a person in a world where vengeance, once carried out, brings no expected release. By the end, Smiley learns the whole truth about himself and his enemy, and even with his revenge complete, he still dies. The story asks whether the hunt was ever really worth it.
Combat & Tension — The Mask
When you arrive at a level you can walk around freely, except in areas where ordinary people shouldn't be. Then you put on the mask — a signal that you're ready for battle.
- If enemies see you masked, or hear gunshots, a firefight begins.
- You die from the first bullet or knife strike — so reading the location first is everything.
- Without ever being told to, the player learns to study layouts and plan a route before committing.
Enemy Variety
Each area introduces a different threat, forcing the player to constantly adapt:
- The chef — wields a knife and can even deflect bullets (ricochet chance) in the kitchen.
- Armed waiters — the reason a place Smiley expected to be guarded feels deceptively safe.
- The biker mini-boss — an UZI-toting brute who shreds the player in confined spaces.
By the end of the run, returning to old enemies, the player feels they've genuinely grown stronger.
Boss Fights
The final three levels are boss encounters, each demanding a different mastery:
- The sniper commander — memorize timing and flight paths to avoid getting hit. You can't run-and-gun; you wait for your opening.
- The machine-gunner — forces you to shoot on the move; his armor soaks 50+ shots, so accuracy is king.
- The final boss — relies on numbers and never gets his hands dirty. It doesn't save him… but it doesn't save Smiley either.
A game where one mistake means death teaches the player to observe, plan, and earn every victory.
